   WORSHIP SERVICES - The First Baptist Church offers two worship services on Sunday mornings. 

                         Contemporary Worship  - 9:00 AM. This casual service features our Christian praise band, One BC. Song, sermon and prayer!

                         Traditional Worship - 10:45 AM. A more formal service featuring favorite hymns and a traditional style of worship.

                         Baptism is a significant part of our worship service each year on the Sunday after Easter (indoor altar pool) and in mid-August (outdoors in the pond). Please contact Pastor Youd if you are a believer interested in baptism.

CHILD CARE is available at our Contemporary service in the downstairs nursery (stairwell is located behind the sanctuary). We CORI all child care providers.

  SUNDAY SCHOOL - Our Sunday School offers a program of Bible learning for all age levels, so that they may grow in understanding the bible and become better prepared for living as faithful Christians. Programs are available from Pre-Kindergarten to Senior High Level as well as adults. Our Sunday School is held from mid-September to mid-June at 9 AM each Sunday morning.    YOUTH MINISTRIES - Our Youth Ministries are dedicated to the spiritual growth of their Christian faith and a variety of out reach projects as well as social events. The First Baptist Church participates in "Youth Leader Core", a statewide youth leadership development program uniting young people in service and fellowship.  Recent social events have included evenings at the Providence Bruins, Christian concerts and hiking the Blue Hills. We are also committed to offering our young people church camp and conference experiences.  If you are interested in any of these ministries, please contact the church office at 781-293-3502.


 
BIBLE STUDIES - A variety of opportunities are available throughout the year for Bible study. Weekly programs as well as special interest series provide learning and support to explore God's word and a relationship with Him.

 Men's Bible Study - Meets each Saturday at 7 AM in Fellowship Hall. Please contact Doug Wicks @ 508-350-9746.

 Women's Tuesday Evening Studies -  Meets at 7 PM on Tuesday evenings at various schedules throughout the year.  Please contact Diane Gillet @ 781-294-7458.

  HOME FELLOWSHIP GROUPS - We offer Home Fellowship Groups that meet throughout the year. The groups are designed to promote support, friendship and sharing through Christian faith. Young and old, couples and singles - our group demographics embrace everyone! Please contact Pastor Youd at the Church Office - 781-293-3502.


 
MISSIONS & EVANGELISM - Our congregation has been actively involved in spreading the gospel through local, national and international outreach programs. We are home to the Hanson Emergency Food Pantry and assist other agencies such as Teen Challenge, MainSpring Coaltion for the Homeless and Habitat For Humanity.

On a national level, we have organized a mission team to visit the Appalachia region in a ministry of home repair  through Christian love to this poverty-striken area.

Internationally, we travel each year to Honduras to build churches, Christian schools and facilities for pastoral training. We also actively support a hospital project in the Dominican Republic.

  HELPING HANDS - The women's organization, Helping Hands, has three major directions - Outreach, Fellowship and Growth of Self-esteem.

                           Outreach - Our service projects are local, state and national. Projects have been directed to the young and elderly, the ill and those in crisis,  the  homeless and an adopted child through the "Save The Children" program.

                           Fellowship - Weekly meetings provide frequent contact with one another. birthday celebrations, lunches and outings are planned each month.

                          Self Improvement and Esteem - "How To" programs are promoted on a wide range of topics such as estate planning, flower arranging, travel logs, etc. All members serve on planning committees and/or serve as directors for ongoing projects such as sunshine cards, love offerings, Christian shared library and gift donations.

Helping Hands meets each Tuesday at the church at 10 AM. All women are invited to join this active group. Please contact Coordinator Tangra Deyesso at 781-293-7693.

  MUSIC - It has been said that "music is the gateway to the soul". At First Baptist we strive to offer something for every musical palate...and invite your involvement!

If you would like to participate as a vocalist or instrumentalist in our Christian praise band, One BC, during our Contemporary Worship, please contact the church office at 781-293-3502.

If you would like to participate as a vocalist (in our choir or as a guest soloist) or as an instrumentalist during the Traditional Worship, please call Music Director Judy Ponte at 508-317-2423.

  CHRISTIAN CHILD CARE CENTER - The Christian Child Care Center is designed to provide a wholesome, enriched environment for children ages 15 months  through completion of Kindergarten. The curriculum is age appropriate with an emphasis on Christian values.

The center offers three different programs:

                          - Preschool (3 hours)

                    - Flexible (3-6 hours)

                    - Full Day (6-10 hours)

  HANSON FOOD PANTRY - The Hanson Emergency Food Pantry is housed at First Baptist and is an effort of all Hanson churches. The pantry is available to Hanson residents. The pantry is also a distribution center for USDA food which is available on a monthly basis to persons in all surrounding communities. Food pantry hours are every Tuesday  from 10:00AM - Noon and from 6-8 PM. Emergency visits may be arranged through the church office at 781-293-3502. For more information on the Hanson Food Pantry or if you would be interested in volunteering once a month, please contact Director Sharon Kennedy at 781-447-4344. Donations (non-perishable food items or monetary) may be left at the church office.

 STEPHEN MINISTERS - The Stephen Ministers are laypeople of our congregation who have received training to counsel folks with various life crises - grieving, divorce, diability, job loss, etc.  This Christian based caregiving is led by the Stephen Ministry of St. Louis, MO, who has trained thousands of Christians in this wonderful ministry throughout the country. ADOPTION MINISTRY- We are pleased to offer this program in conjunction with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange, Inc. There are many kids in our area who are in need of a loving, permanent home. A portfolio of these children is available in the New Wing and is updated monthly. WOMEN'S MINISTRIES - The First Baptist Church offers various programs for women to help us embrace God's word and enrich our relationship with Him and each other.

Tuesday Evening Women's Bible Studies - Our Tuesday evening studies are held throughout the year. These studies generally include a video presentation, at-home workbook material, discussion and prayer. Past programs have included "Bad Girls of the Bible" (Liz Curtis Higgs); "the Power of a Praying Woman" (Stormie Omartian) and "Jesus - The One and Only" (Beth Moore). 

  •  Heart 2 Heart - This women's group meets the second Saturday of each month at 9 AM in Meeting Room 2 for an informal sharing of God's word, discussion, personal sharing and prayer. Coffee and muffins are served. There is no need to signup - just join us when you are moved to do so!  Sessions are 1 1/4 hours. Please contact Diane Gillet (781-294-7458)  for more information
  •  WOW ("Women of Worship") - Three to four times a year our Women's Ministry offers special events featuring guest speakers, worship and fellowship.
